Treatment Care

10-12 days before: AVOID

Aspirin, St John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Ginkgo Bilboba & Ginseng.

7-10 days before: START

Arnica tablets, Eat pineapple (it contains bromelain which speeds metabolism to clear waste and aid healing) If you suffer from cold sores, start taking Aciclovir (antiviral) tablets.

2-3 days before: AVOID

Alcohol

INJECTION DAY

If bruising occurs: APPLY

Cold compress for 48hrs, Arnica cream topically.

7-10 days: CONTINUE

IF YOU NOTICE ANY NEW BRUISING OR DISCOLOURATION TO SKIN YOUR FACE YOU MUST CONTACT ME

Apple a cool compress to the treatment area (do not apply ice directly to the skin) for 10 minutes every half an hour on the day of treatment if needed.

Avoid any head inducing activities for 24 hours such as strenuous exercise, spas, saunas and hot showers. Do not sunbathe or use sun beds for 2 weeks post treatment.

If you are going to bed within 6 hours of your treatment use a fresh, clean pillowcase to minimise risk of bacteria and infection.

Avoid touching the treated area for 24 hours.

Avoid applying makeup over the treatment area for 24 hours.

Avoid smoking & drinking alcohol for 24 hours.

Aqualyx works by causing an inflammatory reaction in the fat cells which can last up to a week. The swelling can be more obvious when having facial treatment, during this time you may wish to organise downtime from work/social engagements.

Apply pressure for up to 72 hours post treatment to help reduce pain.

Massage of the area is advised for 2/3 weeks post treatment.

Swelling can be reduced with use of a cool pack wrapped in a clean cloth and applied for a maximum of 20 minutes.

DO NOT use any anti-inflammatory medication for 48 hours.

DO NOT apply makeup or skincare to treated area for 12 hours.

AVOID: 3 days; extreme temperatures/swimming pools/spas/saunas. 

10 days; physical exercise.

14 days; laser/cryolipolysis/radio frequency treatments.

AVOID: Touching, rubbing or pressing the area for 24 hours

AVOID: Smoking and drinking alcohol for 24 hours post treatment.

The treated area may feel tender and firm for up to 8 weeks post treatment.

Pain and discharge is NOT normal, if you experience this you MUST call me immediately.

24 hours: AVOID

Alcohol, this can thin the blood and increase the possibility of bruising. 

Avoid medications such as blood thinners or anti-inflammatories (consult with your doctors)

Avoid shaving the area that will receive botox (whether with wax, laser or cream)

Avoid products with ‘anti-aging’ substances, such ad retinol, glycolic acid and alpha hydroxy acid.

Treatment day:

Avoid wearing make up

Eat prior to your appointment to avoid feeling light headed.

 

Do not touch, massage or rub the treated in any way for at least 24 hours to prevent the solution from spreading to other muscles.

Avoid strenuous exercise/activities for 24 hours.

Do not lie down for at least four hours after treatment.

Do not undergo other facial treatments such as microdermabrasion, facials and chemical peels for 2 weeks after the treatment.

Avoid heat such as sun beds, sunbathing, saunas & steam rooms for 2 weeks.

 A cold pack can help to reduce swelling and minimise bruising, but it’s important to avoid pressure, even after a couple of days, to ensure the success of the treatment.

Results of the treatment will take up to two weeks to take full effect, please wait until this time has passed before assessing whether or not you’re happy with your results.

A review may be required which must be completed within 3 weeks of your initial treatment.

Further treatment within 2-3 weeks will incur a £30 fee.
